Glenanore Nanasala has taken its first step towards the BPO services as a BPO Service Provider. It has successfully launched its first website beepeeo.com on the 19 th of November.

Glenanore Nanasala has provided job opportunities for two young and motivated professionals who can explore their creativity on Web Design and Graphic Design.

Managing Director of Glenanore Nanasala, Mr. S. Vengadeswaran and Managing Director of Koslanda Nanasala, Mr. S. Srikanth , visited the Swami Malai, Hatton and Lindulla Nanasalas which is located in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. These rural Telecentres (Nanasalas) were established by the Information & Communications Technology Agency (ICTA), three months ago.

Mr. Vengadeswaran and Mr. Srikanth were invited to give an inspirational talk on how to develop Nanasala centres. Both the Managing Directors explained what promotions they did and how they work effectively to improve their services on the nanasalas for last two years. Also they explained about the use of Internet facility and ways to find employment opportunities for people in those areas.

In Lindhulla Nanasala, the staff organized a program for school children and teachers to promote their Nanasala services. Mr.Vengadeswaran and Mr. Srikanth gave an effective speech on the services provided by the Nanasala and the use of Nanasala centres.

BeePeeO's Koslanda Telecentre selected as local implementer of Microsoft "Bridging the Digital Divide" initiative.

"Bridging the Digital Divide" is a small local initiative that focuses on improving lifelong opportunities for underserved young people and adults by providing access to new technology. By providing technology opportunities to underserved individuals, we can create social and economical opportunities that can change people lives and transform communities.

Managing Director of Mr. S. Vengadeswaran organized an IT Seminar in Glenanore Tamil Kanishta Vidyalayam on the 4 th of November. Through this seminar Mr. Vengadeswaran completed a part of IT section in their syllabus.

BeePeeO Managing Director S. Srikanthan has been recognized as a Fellow of the Jamsetji Tata National Virtual Academy. Selection of Fellows is done on the basis of their innate abilities and their proven social commitment. The most important criterion is the commitment of the individual to the progress of his/her village.

If rural transformation is to take place, the contributions of the grassroots ICT facilitators are essential since they know the problems of rural communities and also the potential solutions. The Fellows are so chosen that they become torch-bearers of the rural knowledge revolution and agents of change, bringing about a paradigm shift from low wage unskilled work to value-added skilled work.
